Here is an example of the type of quilt I hope to make. Note the two rows of colored hexagons around a center hexagon, framed in white.
I am trying to make Baby Em a Grandmother’s Garden Quilt for her first birthday. The center panel of the quilt which will be a color “wave,” red blending through the rainbow ending in black. The rest of the quilt will be made up of Grandmother’s Garden Flowers. With 4 children I am caring for, I am way behind and asking for help. Out of your scraps, would anyone be willing to make me a Flower out of half inch hexagons, framed in white? (SEE EXAMPLE ABOVE.) To help motive people to help me, for each flower you send me, I will enter your name into a hat. I will randomly draw a name and the winner will receive a set of three yards of fabric and other fun items I will purchase from the local Quilt Shop. (Fabric alone is a $30 value!!) email me for my address, or leave your email in the comment section, if you are interested in playing along. Remember, the more flowers you send, the more chances of winning you have!

Any color combo is acceptable, as long as the outer portion of the flower is white. (Each hexagon should be half an inch. English paper piecing method, of basting around a template.) I am going to do another border around all of the flowers to tie them in together, similar to the quilt I posted above. Please let me know if you have any questions, or if these directives are not clear. They don’t take that long to make IF you have free time… something I am lacking of lately! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
